Does House Washing Include Exterior Window Cleaning?
A house wash and exterior window detailing work well together, but they are not the same service and should not be described as if they are.

The short answer
What homeowners need to know
House washing focuses on siding, soffits, fascia, and gutter exteriors. Windows are rinsed as part of that process, but detailed exterior glass cleaning is a separate service for a clearer, more deliberate finish.
Why a rinse is not the same as detailing
During a house wash, nearby glass is part of the rinse and protection plan. That does not automatically mean each pane receives a dedicated exterior window-cleaning process.
Ordinary film, water spots, screen residue, mineral deposits, paint, adhesive, and construction debris are different conditions. Some can be improved through routine exterior cleaning; others need a separate restoration discussion and may not be removable through standard service.
When adding exterior windows makes sense
Bundling is useful when the glass is one of the most visible parts of the finished exterior or when access can be planned alongside other services.
- Spring or fall whole-property cleaning
- Preparing a home for sale or photography
- Cleaning after siding, soffits, and fascia
- Storefront or customer-facing exterior glass
- Homes with visible film on accessible upper-story windows
Details to include in the quote request
Photos and a rough window count help, but access matters just as much. Mention walkout basements, steep grade changes, enclosed porches, storm windows, screens, divided panes, and any glass that sits above a roof section.
Also confirm whether the quote is exterior-only. Wash Away Today lists exterior window cleaning as its service scope; interior glass and specialty restoration should never be assumed.
How to compare two quotes
Look for a defined number or group of windows, the sides of the glass being cleaned, access limitations, and stated exclusions. A lower price may simply describe a rinse while another quote describes individual exterior detailing.
The clearer the scope, the easier it is to judge the finished work and avoid an awkward expectation gap after the house has already been washed.
